Kelly O’Bryan’s Neighborhood Restaurant

262 Bernard Ave, Kelowna, BC V1Y 6N4

Sadly however, the quality of the food seems to be declining, room temperature fries are graced with plastic cheese, a bare sprinkling of onions, and the portions have lost at least 6 large waffle fries. Staff are still friendly, however they seem overwhelmed.

Cineplex Cinemas

Orchard Plaza 160-1876 Cooper Rd, Kelowna, BC V1Y 9N6

★★★★

This theater underwent a massively needed upgrade a few years back, making it able to compete with the others in town, one of my favorite perks being the reclining seats! I would have given 5 stars, however, when we walked out after the show, I was appalled to see a half inch layer of popcorn all over the lobby floor. I used to go to movies quite regularly at the Xtreme Theater in West Kelowna, and I never had to wade through popcorn to get to the front door.

Ill-gotten Emails – staff sourcing.com

Fair warning to all you scammers and spammers out there – You don’t want to email me unless you want to be blown WIDE OPEN. All spams, scams and marketing schemes sent to me are researched and detailed within this blog.

My latest frustration lies with my personal work email, which while it is for a public company, the email lists are private. They can be easily guessed however, if one was to use my Linkedin Profile, using my name and place of employment. This appears to be the newest marketing scheme in an effort to get people to buy into their training, and while these emails looks ‘legit’ the ill-gotten means by which they retrieved my email is unacceptable. This isn’t the first time this has happened, each time with a different email address, so click HERE to read up on previous Ill-Gotten emails.

First off, if you come across a major company, you don’t message a random person within the company, you go to the head of the departments. So, after getting the second email, I decided to reply via my own personal email as I don’t risk my company being exposed to spam and scams.

Please stop sending emails to *****@***.com/ca. I shouldn’t have to REMOVE myself from a set of emails you wrongly got my email address from.

I have reported you as spam, as you should have never ever ever found this email, as it’s not posted to any external site, so you either have a staff directory that you’re just testing emails, or have somehow got your hands on our email lists.

I find this to be extremely frustrating, annoying and mildly scary, let alone bad business practice!

Fair warning, depending on your response, I will be making a blog post about how your company disregards privacy, sending out automated emails wanting information.

Please think about your business model and consider contacting the head of this company, whose information is SUPER easy to find online without testing random emails.

In conclusion, I hope bringing forward this information will help keep my friends and family safe, and once again a fair warning to all you spammers scammers and underhanded marketers, don’t send me your junk.

Riviera Village Green Hotel Complex

4801 27 St, Vernon, BC V1T 4Z1

★★★★★

As this location hosted the Vernon Comic-con, my travels took me here! Surprisingly, there are a lot of conference rooms tucked into the bottom floor of this tiny building, allowing a small convention to run smoothly. The front overhang of this building is stood on massive stone pillars that make excellent backdrops! As for the hotel itself however, I am unaware of it’s services.

Artists & Vendors I Met at the Vernon Comic-con 2019

Well I thought I’d start doing a little something different then just filing all those business cards away for when I need them next! I love meeting people at these events because they are so excited about what they have to share that it gets me excited TOO! I’m also pretty broke when I go to these things, and end up having to buy anything I wanted after the fact, so I always walk out with a little stack of business cards and a plan! However, I don’t want to hog all these awesome people to myself, so I’ll share my finds with you 🙂 You’re welcome!

Kelowna City Park

1600 Abbott St, Kelowna, BC V1Y 1B7

★★★★★

Some of my earliest memories of Kelowna are of this very park. My memere (French Grandmother) took me downtown when I was 2, where we wandered through this park feeding birds. In 1997, a wind/hail storm blew through Kelowna, knocking over a bunch of trees in this park. You’ll note the ones that were replanted easily due to size variations, all towering and providing well needed shade on lazy hot summer days! A tribute to this was created by Peter Ryan, and is on display in City Park adjacent to the water park. A great place to take pictures, relax, play some volleyball or jump in the lake!

Okanagan’s $100 million Hailstorm – July 21, 1997. A destructive hail and wind storm ripped through the orchards of the Okanagan. It was the worst storm in memory with nearly 40% of the crop deemed unsuitable for fresh market. The rain and hail was accompanied by winds gusting to 100 km/h that capsized boats in the interior lakes, and caused power outages and traffic accidents.

16263774256 – Spam Caller Using?

I received an automated call from ‘Pasadena’ at 16263774256, calling to update my Google listing. I hung up, and called back via POP-TOX, and it sent me through to UEI college – I found this strange, so I looked them up online, their phone number listed is 1 424-286-9990. I called this number, and was surprised to hear both the menus for these numbers was the same.

I tried to speak with their staff in an effort to make sure both menus were in fact the same, but the person who answered refused to give their name and said that they were unable to transfer calls within their call center.

Unable to recreate the automated call from ‘Pasadena’ claiming to be Google, I can only assume they were able to use the number somehow via an automated dialing service, or, on a long shot, that students at UEI have an interesting sense of humor.
