This place is incredible! Once a month, they hold a pizza draw online, and when you win, you get LOADED with pizza!!! Our office of 20 was easily fed by the amount, their pizza was delectable and their wings not soggy! I feel this place makes their product for the right reasons, and I hope their quality and care will continue!
Tucked away in Naramata, the breathtaking views of this little gem make your dinner experience a real treat! Tapas style, these dishes are meant to order 4 or more if a couple is to enjoy a full meal. Prices range from 5-20 a dish.
Ordered a wrap, however, the description was misleading and I ended up with a sushi ‘wrap’. While still delicious, I feel the board could be re-written to prevent confusion.
The ingredients were the finest I’ve tasted in a long time, spinach, carrot, and teriyaki beef in a mix of white and wild rice, all wrapped and a above par piece of seaweed! While I won’t be frequenting this place as the prices are high, I know where to get a excellent quality meal.
Expect insane prices and small portions as this place is all about providing you a ritzy atmosphere with girls in tight skirts and good looking guys in ties as you gaze out onto the expensive yachts – it is a Yacht Club after all. Service is excellent, however, 13 dollars for a glass of wine makes the whole meal taste sour.
The last time I was at this location the fries were greasy and saltless, but I gave it another chance as this location had always been good, even at 2 in the morning! Ordered a large fries and three cheeseburgers, fries came out hot and perfectly salted, cheeseburgers were warm and sauce was evenly spread. However, if you’re gonna have an ‘Any Lane Anytime’ sign, and you’re gonna crate off one lane, maybe turn it off?
Chipper cheery staff, however the food was horrible. I’m not sure what they’ve mixed into their onions on the buddy burger, but it looked like celery and when eaten, the texture felt like chewing on a dried stalk of buck choy or dried corn stalk.
Princess Leia made an appearance at Quest Martial Art’s Academy’s‘Spar Wars’. These guys create a safe environment for those who enjoy fighting, and prompt students to better themselves. The teachers are witty, funny, caring and down to earth, so know that you or your child/teenager will be getting excellent care.
Headed out to Vernon on the weekend for May the 4th Celebrations, Vernon hosted a Comic-Con! Ran into the 501st, and immediately asked Vader if it was a lady under there, and to my pleasant surprise, a lady’s voice replied! I met her last year, there is only one lady who troops as Darth Vader, the force truly is strong with this one! Coupled with her husband dressed as Boba Fett, the two make an intimidating and awe inspiring moment for those who are brave enough to face the Dark lord.
Stopped by Munin’s with the RWBY group for a specialty crafted coffee beer (SHHH don’t tell Uncle Crow!) then into Safeway to grab the makings of a pizza, a vegi platter and an already made Hawaiin pizza !
Headed out with the RAOC group a couple times this month to the Kelowna General Hospital, where we set out to provide special moments to children, and anyone else who we could make smile!
Sadly however, the quality of the food seems to be declining, room temperature fries are graced with plastic cheese, a bare sprinkling of onions, and the portions have lost at least 6 large waffle fries. Staff are still friendly, however they seem overwhelmed.
Alright! This is the second monthly update where I take you on a tour of where I’ve been outside of the game world! Any helpful feedback is greatly appreciated as I embark on this new adventure, one that I hope will encourage me to get out more and show off my beautiful town, and who knows, maybe someday, the world!
This month started with a stay-cation away from my full-time scheduling job, allowing me some time to put together some of the new features you’ll see throughout my pages. My twin sisters were in town for the first week of this, so I spent some time with them and the family.
Stopped by Mission Creek on my way home to find some smooth water washed rocks, meeting an adorable, patient, obedient puppy on the way out as the owner had asked it to sit on the rock outside the park to take a picture. Even though he wanted to jump off and come beg for a pat, he looked at me longingly instead and resigned to his fate – what a sweetheart!
Took mum out for Donairs at Subcity, always a treat!
Went up to Vernon to trim my trees, the honeysuckle was getting a bit out of hand!
Back to work, I snagged some views of the lake from the top floor.
Went with the RWBY Group to DUNNENZIES PIZZA AND PUB, where comedy night was in full swing, providing some easy going material for those looking to add to their gig! For more on that, check out RWBYBCCOSPLAYERS!
Not too much exploring this month, but I’ve been working on a few projects (with a bit of help from Kelly) I hope to share with you soon!
Peace out from Sarahtonin! – Check out my video update below!
-PS Next month I should have a better camera setup!
When this shop started up years ago, this was the second one in Kelowna, run by the same people who started the first one a few years prior to that. My mom was right there to show her support, as she’s a Maritimer and missed her Donairs! To be sure that they were perfect, she shared the special ‘sweet sauce’ recipe, a sauce that makes these Donairs an amazing experience to this day! This place holds a special place in my heart, as many mother daughter dates have always been held here.
