September 2019 Exploration Update

Alrighty! September 2019 Exploration Update with SarahTonin

Special Guest Star – Raven from Teen Titans! Β (Lucky to snag her before she headed off back to her room!)

HI I’m Raven, I just got back from Random Acts of Costuming, where we cheered up some kids and some people, I put on my best smile, and now without any further ado, here is SarahTonin’s Exploration Update for the Month of September. Teen Titans GO!

Shout out to Random Acts of Costuming, check them out on Facebook and follow them there, more on that next month.

Didn’t go many places, but we did make some delicious shish kabobs and had a corn feast, which if you see there, I’ve taken two slices of tomato and slathered them on the corn. (This to be done after normal condiments applied, butter, salt and pepper) That’s how you do it RIGHT!

Saw this spectacular sunrise, peeking out from behind a fire hydrant.

Snapped a few shots of this excellent sunset on the way back from Vernon

Went camping, made some camp food! Yes, Omelets ARE camp food.

And there’s some power lines…

(Further) Construction on St. Paul’s

Corn Chowder! (Recipe to follow!)

The September full moon illuminated by the light of a Polar Bear!

And lights on Bernard!

Put out How to Make a Cape with Ruby

Finished my Peter Kelamis Goku Montage! (To support my work click here!)

Got some AWESOME socks at Hot Topic on Sale!

Sliced up some crab apples to make tea! Figured out a neat way of cutting them, so it doesn’t take you ALL day!

Early morning hours on Bernard; and facing the other direction

Making some Banana Bread!

Whooh – Made some egg whites you could that you could stand up straight, I made a beautiful peach meringue pie… πŸ™‚

There’s our banana bread!

Peach meringue pie!

And these lovely ladies, that were helping with raise a reader downtown by the Capital New Centre.

Kelowna just waking up in the morning!

A peaceful, quiet Bernard Morning-GREEN LIGHT!

And a cute little mushroom glen!

Also helped raise awareness for Orange Shirt Day, check that out Online.

And I thought I’d end it on a funny note. Why can’t you Trust an Artist? Because….They’re Shady! They’re Sketchy! AND they might try to Frame you! Have a great week guys and hopefully I’ll  explore way more things this month however as the winter months set in, I tend to bunker down and hibernate…and wait for the cold to go away! So you may see me venture out, once in a while, but expect to see more updates in regards to Tutorials, and other such likes! Stay Tuned!

Please Subscribe Below! Peace Out, SarahTonin!

Friendly homey atmosphere that makes you want to relax and unwind. Have a tea, coffee, or pastry and let a charming barista take your order, then make it for you while you watch! It makes an excellent end of day location, as it’s store front faces towards the sunset, allowing you to bask in it’s glow.

Customer service is excellent, people care.

Interior Provincial Exhibition

β˜…β˜…β˜…

IPE Fairgrounds, 3010 Wood Avenue – IPE Main Office, 3371 Pleasant Valley Rd, Armstrong, BC V0E 1B0

This used to be the place to go, however large crowds make the end of the day a nightmare, and prices going up for both the ticket and the ride passes make this location just another money grab. Sad to see this event go the way of so many others.  May as well save your money and enjoy yourself at the Salmon Arm Fair.

Tim Hortons

261 Bernard Ave, Kelowna, BC V1Y 6N2

*April 19th 2019*
Regardless of the rude comments of homeless people hanging out in here (Apparently most of these people are kinder then you!) this location is clean, yet somehow they cannot get orders right. My colleagues and I will be removing our business, and will be warning others if this doesn’t improve, as charging people for items they didn’t order, or not giving them something as simple as a bun in their chili means attention to detail is lacking, and makes other areas such as health and safety come into question.

*Update September 19th 2019*
My colleagues decided to give you a few more shots, however the first time you took over 30 minutes to heat up chili, and the second time you told them to take it and warm it up in the microwave. This location is a JOKE.

June to August Exploration Update

Staples

β˜…

2339 BC-97 Unit 430, Kelowna, BC V1X 4H9

Just spent 5 minutes on hold, pressed 1 to speak to a print associate, only to have them return me to the main menu. I tried again, this time dialing 2, and an associate picked it up, put it on the desk, I tried calling out to the employee for a good 2 minutes before hanging up and trying again. I eventually hung-up, called back, only to have the phone picked up and hung up. I have tried 5 times since this, however, every-time the hold time is up, it returns me to the main menu. Menu option 1 still has a dial tone, meaning option 2’s phone is still sitting on the desk. This is terrible customer service, coupled with a horrible phone system.

I’m not the only one, just check out the low star reviews!

After being unable to get through after 20 minutes, I phoned head office, as I see this is a pattern and is completely unacceptable.

Head office not only listened, told me how they are going to follow back up with an action plan, but also offered me a coupon in regards to the item I’d been trying to call them about to ask. Head office gets 5 stars, this location still gets 1.

We’ll have to come back to/ callback this location in a few months and see if promised improvements are made!)

Mr Mozzarella Kelowna Pizza & Wings

β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

11-4600 Lakeshore Rd, Kelowna, BC V1W 1X4

This place is incredible! Once a month, they hold a pizza draw online, and when you win, you get LOADED with pizza!!! Our office of 20 was easily fed by the amount, their pizza was delectable and their wings not soggy! I feel this place makes their product for the right reasons, and I hope their quality and care will continue!

Dollarama

171 Hollywood Rd S, Kelowna, BC V1X 3S8

Growing up in Rutland, the most exciting thing around was Value Village and the few pretend dollar stores that popped up and went out of business in the IGA strip mall. (You know the ones, most items range from 5-20 dollars, rarely having any items lower then a Toonie) This location will see lots of business as the location is one of the most spacious in Kelowna, and while it appears they are still working on getting the perfect team together, it was organized & clean.
