SIN Spam Callers Using Inactive Numbers

I received a phone call from this number with an automated voice who stated the following in a mildly pleasant accent:

Unintelligible -administration- the reason of this call is to inform you our department has decided suspend your Social Insurance Number and it’s benefits. As we have recieved complaints of suspicious activity on your Social Insurance Number. Your Social Insurance Number is getting used illegaly for money laundering and fake loans. If this is not getting done by you, please press one to speak with our officer to resolve this. Prevent your social insurance number from suspension. Thank you.”

I’ve tried to call back this number using Pop-Tox, and it says this number is not in service.

Whatever you do, do not give away your name, voice inflections or anything else relevant when answering these calls. Better yet, ignore and block them asap! For more info on that, check out this article here: Why Phone Fraud Starts With A Silent Call

Numbers I’ve received this call from so far are as follows:

Updating Facebook Thumbnails

If you’ve ever posted a link from the same site on Facebook, you’ll sometimes notice that the preview image doesn’t match the data you know is on that site. To fix this, you’ll need to refresh your posts URL.

Why? you ask. Well, Facebook caches information that they took from their first scan of the page, and continues to draw on this information, until told to update!

Why doesn’t deleting and re-posting the link work? Facebook’s cache is holding that original scan the link, and will continue to give you and everyone else the same outdated preview.

How do you fix this???

There are three methods you can try to update Facebook’s cache, I have written one out here, with a link to the original article by John Doppler that showed me how to update it, as well as two more methods, which are a bit harder.

Step 1: Click the date and time stamp under your name at the top of the post.
Step 2: CLICK THE THREE DOTS In the upper right hand side of the post across From your name, and choose the “Refresh share attachment” option.

Step 3: Click Save

Step 4: Reload page and check!

Many of you in the Cosplayer world have either heard of or used Tik-Tok. If this is you, please uninstall it, or at least be aware of what this Tool is actually doing.

This notification raised many flags, and I did a quick Google Search which brought to light the following:

The US has even opened a National Security Review into Tik-Tok

In Conclusion – This App asks for use of your camera and microphone, and doesn’t have limits as to where this data goes!!!!! Watch what apps ask for, and be safe out there friends!

Okanagan Smiles

2149 Springfield Rd, Kelowna, BC V1Y 7X1

Was having major troubles with my teeth for the first time in my life, other then only having three wisdom teeth and needing one removed to even out my mouth. Having been born lucky with an almost perfect jaw. I take great pride trying to maintain this bite, but, I couldn’t get my hands into my mouth to floss, and the water pick wasn’t cutting it. I lamented about this at work, as I had just seen my dentist and somehow, I was getting cavities in places I knew I was flossing. She suggested this place, and though nervous to try someone else, within a month, this team had my mouth on the road to recovery, as they had removed tartar buildup under the gums which relieved tension in my face muscles. A truly incredible experience, I recommend this place for SMILES 100%!!!!

What is Onsen Therapy?

Glad you asked!

This practical, no nonsense type treatment that is used to structurally balance all the joints in the body so they can open and close properly without pain.

Training in Onsen TherapyTM has provided me with the tools to help those who have not found help from other Forms of Therapy. Students can re-educate the joints by detailed assessment and correction of those joints.

As therapists, we accomplish that with this protocol:

  1. We assess Structure:
    • What’s out of place?
  2. We assess Muscles:
    • What is too strong or weak pulling our structure/joints out of place?
  3. We retrain and restore Muscle Memory, so that:
    • your muscles can once again hold
    • your structure is where it should be
  4. We re-balance the Muscle with:
    • a specialized muscle-energy technique
    • an isometric exercise treatment protocol
    • light transverse friction massage
    • 2-4 stretch/strengthening exercises at home

Onsen TherapyTM gives relief to pain conditions, for example:

  • -98% of all arthritic cases
  • Fibromyalgia, chronic pain, burning, scaring, lesions
  • -Spinal bulges, herniation, fusions, frozen shoulders
  • -Repetitive strain, ie athletic and work injuries to the wrists and elbows
  • -Auto injuries, neck, foot, knee, back.
  • -Spiral Fractures
  • -Migraines, Sciatica, hip replacements, hip pain, and put simply other unexplained pain.

Please wear loose garments, such as a t-shirt and stretch pants or shorts when you attend an Onsen TherapyTM Session, where we will balance your structure for you to feel the best you can!

Blood Based Dieting – Dieting for Your Blood Type

An important thing to consider when dieting is your Blood Type. Why, you ask? Well, something like cucumbers can make someone of Blood Type O decrease in microbiome diversity, which is bad! At the same time, cucumbers will increase this in a Blood Type AB person, while also making it easier for them to lose weight. (To understand more why lowering of this is bad, check out this article here.)

There are four main blood groups (types of blood) – A, B, AB and O. Your blood group is determined by the genes you inherit from your parents. Each group can be either RhD positive or RhD negative, which means in total there are eight main blood groups.

Keeping this in mind, I feel it is wise to check each item you ingest before starting a new fad diet. Something simple could be holding you back!

Compliments – A Tool So Often Misused

I came across this article this morning, “Self-Sabotage in Relationships and the One Question We’re Not Asking” by Crystal Jackson, and the words ‘Men compliment us, and if we don’t fall over with gratitude, they act like we’re egomaniacs.’ – stuck out to me. Personal experience as a Cosplayer and a woman, I’ve been complimented in the past, then when I haven’t answered back the way they hoped for, the person will either become moody, or continue pushing to the point of harassment in hopes of achieving their desired result.

It proceeds to say ‘The compliment isn’t really a compliment then, is it? It’s just a tool they use to get what they want. Otherwise, it would be freely given, without expectations attached. ‘ The writer then goes into detail of how she doesn’t even bother reading messages that start with a compliment, followed up by a question that was clearly answered by a quick look at her bio, finished off with a sentence starting a relationship with her without bothering to ask if she was interested. (Sound familiar?)

Compliments are just compliments, and too many people, men and women alike, use these to get what they want, and don’t bother asking if the person is truly interested in them or the project they are working on. This needs to be recognized as a form of manipulation and needs to be stopped.

I feel the article’s title is a bit off-topic, however I feel that it provides us the solution to the problem so many people face. “We need to start asking! It’s not wrong to be interested and to even reach out and communicate that interest. To proceed as if our interest is implied by our very existence is ridiculous.

I give away random compliments daily in an effort to make this world a brighter place, but I don’t expect anything extra from providing it, nor do I use them to get my way, and I get right irate at those who think their smooth words are going to push me into doing something I don’t care or want to do. Like anything, compliments can be used for good or bad, it’s how we use them that counts. Ask yourself, am I using this compliment for something? If so, is it to make the world a better place? Or is it for personal gain? Each one of us holds this tool, it’s up to you to choose how it’s used!

Research Your Apps – Free Doesn’t Mean Free

I’m quite fond of the fact that in our technical day and age, it is becoming more and more common place to ‘Have an App for that!’ Apps make our lives easier, from helping cutting down extraneous tasks to graphic editing. For Android users, many apps are free, made by other users, which can include options such as either ‘Pay to use better options’ or ‘Pay to get rid of ads’.

That being said, an easily downloaded application has become scammers next target. A Toronto Security company has discovered an App called ‘Xhelper’ which is now termed as a malware that is impossible to remove, as it has the ability to reinstall itself and is designed to remain hidden! It even has code to ensure it isn’t deleted when a Factory Reset is prompted, and performs malicious actions such as “showing advertisements to the users, downloading and executing more malicious payloads from its remote server onto the users device”

My advice as a tech user is to research your apps before downloading! Look through those Reviews, weed out the Automated replies, make sure this app is right for you, and if it looks suspicious, DON’T DOWNLOAD!!!! And as an extra layer of protection, or to ensure that you haven’t already succumbed to this malware, install a malware detector.

Stay safe out there my friends!
