Mission Creek Regional Park

Many fond memories of this place. The playground always had the largest swings in the valley, when I first swung on them, they had wooden logs behind them, however, the logs were soon removed due to safety reasons. Sadly, almost 20 years later, the swings have also been removed…

The playground was fairly small when I was a kid, but one of the largest in Kelowna till Ben Lee was built. They upgraded the playground about 15 years ago, an amazing playground, sturdy and no splinters. They also made additions about 5 years ago, however while I enjoy climbing their newest addition, I’m not fond of the ropes themselves, as the plastic chosen has shown to not weather well and really is uncomfortable to climb. Also, really loving the bouncy rubber matting, however, not a fan of wood chips, as it’s uncomfortable sure to scrape landing.

There are many trails to go hiking or biking in, even ground for calmer walks, and steeper trails for the more adventurous. My father taught me much about plant foliage wandering around this park. They introduced a Gazebo like structure and a Center you can go to learn more about the wildlife there, extremely educational! Learn how the the land locked Kokanee salmon make their annual spawning run along the Mission Creek and much much more!
