Mother of Dragons

I am Daenerys Stormborn, of House Targaryen. Rightful heir to the Iron Throne, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, the Rhoynar, and the First Men. I am the Mother of Dragons, the Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, and Breaker of Chains. The Khaleesi, Daenerys Targaryen.

Daenerys Targaryen – George R. R. Martin

Protected by her three dragons:

  • Drogon, named after Khal Drogo, black with red markings. Larger and more aggressive than his siblings, he is also the mount of Daenerys Targaryen.
  • Rhaegal, named after Rhaegar Targaryen, green with bronze markings.
  • Viserion, named after Viserys Targaryen, creamy white, with gold markings.

When Game of Thrones first came out, I fell in love with Daenerys Targaryen’s character – her style, her attitude, and her resolve. She knew what her birth right was, she stuck with her goal, and ended up proving to herself and the world that the titles she claimed were truly who SHE was.

I first debuted this at Kelowna Flightcraft, my 4th year of being part of the tradition Finance, IT, and other support staff who didn’t have to be out working on the planes, along with a few creative technicians who would manage to somehow work it into their everyday clothes, would get a chance to take a break from the norm and gather together and take a pic at lunch.

The next time I wore it was at the third Annual Winter is Coming Party, of which I don’t have any pictures of, but here’s the soundtrack!

I then had the pleasure of meeting ‘Jon Snow’ while I was first looking for a group to shoot GOT pictures with at the Penti-con, you can find more her work here.

I then ran into Jon at Vancouver Fan Expo 2018, you can find his work here.

Jon Snow & His Mighty Wolf!

Seems I’ve found my dragons in human form….#gogopowerrangers

We then met up almost a year and a half later from our original meeting to trek through the ice and snow to show WINTER IS COMING!! (For Behind the Scenes, Click Here!)

Khaleesi has also made it into my Game-play, being featured as a character in testing Wayward 2.8.2. Watch as The Mother of Dragons must learn to survive without her dragon’s fire!

However – I think she’s got that covered!

Ruby Rose – Easy Cape Making!

Every Ruby adventure needs a cape!

What you will need:

  • 1/2 Sheet -1 Sheet if you require a larger cape!
  • Sewing Machine (You could hand-sew, but it may take a long time!)
  • Thread
  • Marking tool (Optional! I eyeballed it 😉 )

  • Measure shoulders and take off 8 inches (Example 38 inch shoulders = 30 inches Neckline)
-Take A sheet!
-Fold sheet in half and lay on a flat surface
-Cut Sheet, Fold sheet in half again and lay on flat surface
  • Mark a line two feet from the top
  • From the folded side of the sheet, measure and mark 1/2 the neckline width
– Sew a diagonal line from the corner of the open edge to the neckline mark made 2 Feet Down

Easy Ankle Warmers

I ended up with one leg warmer, so I divided it into a pair of ankle warmers! I forgot to take a before pic, however the idea is pretty simple.

You’ll note there are 14 little puffballs on this piece, 7 on each side.

I cut it on an angle, allowing 7 on each half.

Then I hemmed it with a zig zag. This could also have been done with a serger or a blind hem, but as it is knit, this easy job blends well.

Nautical Clock

Things needed:

Clock with preferably raised designs

Small Screw-Driver (Dependent on clock assembly)

8 Finisher Nails

Clay (Sculpey or FIMO or in this case both)

To start off, I chose and mixed and rolled the following colors to create a fake ‘stick’.  Clay brown, gold orange, dark brown, light brown, red, white, lemon yellow, black, blue and dark brown.

I chopped the stick into 16 pieces, 8 at 1 inch each, and 8 one and a 1/2 inch.  The 1 inch I rolled into circles, and the 1 1/2 inch and rolled the ends to create a smooth oval bead.20180314_135919

I disassembled the clock, removed the rim, and made eight evenly spaced marks on the inside, then put a nail through each one, directly center on the band. I then poked the beads onto the nails like so.

I removed each set of beads, trying to keep them attached to each other, and baked at 175 for 40 minutes.

After re-attaching the now cooked beads, I mixed dark brown, gold and bronze, and painted the inner rim, leaving the silver raised dots in the middle as silver to make the ‘rivets’ pop.

Once the paint was dry, I reassembled and Viola!

Clay Shiatsu Pendant

Things needed:

Clay Tools

2 inch of wire

Clay (Sculpey or FIMO or in this case both)

To start off, I chose/mixed the below colors, Clay brown, gold orange, dark brown, light brown, red, white, light yellow, orange, and dark brown.

First I rolled out a line of white, and rolled out two balls of using all the colors of brown, to make a base to build on.

I bent a two inch wire into an U, put it on the base, and covered it with chunk of white pressed to about this shape:

With toothpicks I began to pick at the clay and poke at it till it looked like fur.

I rolled out 2 black balls for the eyes, a pinch bigger ball for his nose, and a larger ball for the mouth. I flattened the mouth ball and shaped it into a mouth shape, with a connector piece for the nose. With a toothpick I poked two nose holes in the top of the nose and attached it to the mouth connector. A few chunks of white clay created the teeth, once again using a toothpick to create the desired look.

For the tongue, I flattened out an oval of red, pushed a toothpick down the middle, and curled it to suit.

Placed eyes.

Rolled out super thin lines of gold white and brown mix, and placed with toothpicks to create facial expression and hair for the back of the head.

Baked at 175 for 40 mins, and Viola!
